Objectives:

To create connections, perspectives and share visions about the role of the knowledge world towards the transnational day of struggle of 14th november To attack the dynamics that rule our university systems: meritocracy, knowledge exploitation, student debt, precarious research To focus on the role of university in the struggles against austerity and troika measures

Goals:

14th november as a day in which the conflictual knowledge world will generalize the strikes that will take place in Southern Europe beyond the forms practiced by trade unions The further development of the common space of action and debate that we built in Paris with the Klf foundation and the partecipation at the meetings in Barcelona, Tunis and Athens. Our university is the university of social struggles, growing in the occupied squares like Sol,Tahrir and Syntagma and all the different kinds of self-reapropriation and autonomous and conflict-oriented knowledge.

Discussion:

* In Italy, in the October 5th there were great students demonstrations against crisis. We underline two interesting points: 1) how can be done an effective struggle against austerity to the knowledge workers; 2) the role of trade unions against autonomy and freedom of social movements. November 14th could be a moment of experimentation for a transnational struggle. We need to create commons languages and directions towards that date. *Finnish government introduced a plan to triplify tuition fees. There's a clear difficult in mobilitation of  students without a transnational level.

*In Alicante the university is under attack (increasing fees etc). We will establish connections to grow up european student mobilizations.

*In Liubjana University we questioned how to step back from defending public university considering all the transfomations. We're planning big demonstrations against austerity plans in November 14th and 17th and we think it's important to try to create an autonomous space of struggle in Universities.

*Individualism emerges in students actually. In Spain there is a great job to build a collective subjectivity against the individual one. The struggles in University can be well linked without that of basic income; in Finland we're debating in order to create autonomous university's institutions.

*In Germany are disappeared political structures created during Bolonia Process reforms. We have to exchange different experiences in Europe to understand that studying is not a commodity.

*We have a radio program in Tampere University. They are trying to build an autonomus perspective of University. We think it's  necessary to work between different autonomous experiences in european Universities. We've seen that unions are forcing some questions like basic income; we see different attitudes, like in Italy, where student's union don't do really nothing. There's a great debate about the creation of an autonomus university in Finland now.

*High schools in Italy are in mobilisation. In October 5th student demonstrations took the square in many cities without parties, in a completely autonomous dimension. Also in italian universities there are interesting situations, like in Turin, where an eviction provoked an immediately spontaneous reaction, and in Bolonia, where the students protested against Fornero's meeting in the city. The appointment of General Strike is the first appointment of autonomous student strike, all over Mediterranean area.

*I'm a precarious teacher in Italy, I took part of last student movements. There's a lot of struggles in Europe universities, like in London 2 years ago, like in Berlin in 2009, or in Italy the last 4 years. In Italy the university is completely dismanteled, the process of university corporization is very deep and go fast. We can build up the tools to empower struggles in education all over Europe. I mean the ability to build up a transnational process is to compare and to apprehend from one struggle to another. Ex.:in Italy we're against merit as a neoliberal idea to deconstruct:Italian students demonstrates that was a mask in the total decadence of universities. Also idea that students are an “elite” is absolutely dangerous: in Europe students are obliged to contract debt and to live in permanent precarity, not only in Italy.

*I'm a teacher from Madrid, we're working in an area mixing art and politics; we work with different kind of people, like childrens..and we think that's important to speaks and teaching to everyone who is the counterpart that inhibites their future perspective.

*I'm a knowledge worker in Germany: the situation is really similar, i'm stupified! We live the same problems, We need to find the same revindications.

*In Italy we've seen many questions. I insist on the importance in creating contradictions in order to produce conflicts. The main questions is about when and how to open political spaces into and beyond the universities, from the 14th of November. Spaces where student's energies work to construct an autonomous university. The student is the central actor able to connect all our society problems, problem's that couldn't be explicit without radical struggles. November 14th is the first moment in wich we want to reclaim all these problems.

* I agree with. Occupying spaces, using new technologies, acting against debt: desobedience against economic assets.

* Everywhere we see the same dynamics: privatizations and debt. We have to propose a kind of claim to November 14th embedding everyone in mobilisation. Furthermore we underline the merit question: we need to revolt his signifiant.A key word: the merit in struggle.

*How to produce generalisation of struggles? 15M has been possible because there had been the ability to connect different kind of struggle and subjectivities. That's the way. Who are our  enemies against generalisation? Merit is the first: we must deconstruct this logic.

*In which ways can we attack meritocracy?  Speaking about generalisation has is material form in November 14th: is a public space we can act. We have to make a signal for what knowledge in struggle will re-apropriate welfare and attack meritocracy. Occupations to organize different kind of relationship with other students and professors. Spain in this sense is a great example: the “primavera valenciana”. Knowledge has the power to generalize mobilisations. There are so many years entempting in organising something on a transnational level:November 14th is the first great opportunity.

*Key word: against debt to generalise struggles. When we see at November 14th we need to speak to the whole society against crisis. In the last two years there's an emersion of destituency power in an international level, but in the same time in a constituent one. Knowledge can create a space where different struggles can stay together.

*Student struggles, workers struggles, miners and teachers, etc are linked in. In Spain they are using the same languages and the same narrative forms: they share it and create new ones.  So, knowledge can't be create in the system but primarily in struggle. And doing so on we can create processes increasing polytical crisis.

We will keep on creating connections between the different struggles inside the knowledge world, connecetions able to develop mobilitation that could go beyond the borders and to create a different subjectivity against the crisis of capitalism. See you in the streets..
