La lista, la prima del suo genere, include donne e uomini di tutte le età provenienti da 65 diverse nazioni, che secondo RSF hanno messo i loro ideali al servizio del bene comune e sono considerati come esempi. Golog Jigme assistette il regista Dhondup Wangchen in segreto, per le riprese del suo film documentario Leaving Fear Behind, che metteva in luce la vita dei tibetani in Cina alla vigilia delle Olimpiadi di Pechino 2008. Proclamato dall'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite nel 1993, il giorno della libertà di stampa si celebra il 3 maggio di ogni anno, che è l'anniversario della Dichiarazione di Windhoek, una dichiarazione di principi per la stampa libera, messa insieme dai giornalisti dei giornali africani nel 1991. Per celebrare la giornata, il Centro tibetano per i diritti umani e la democrazia ha programmato un concerto per la Consapevolezza a sostegno della libertà dei media in Tibet. The list - a first of its kind - included women and men of all ages from 65 different nations, who according to RSF have put their ideals in the “service of the common good” and “served as examples”. Golog Jigme assisted filmmaker Dhondup Wangchen in secretly shooting his documentary film Leaving Fear Behind which sheds light on Tibetans lives under China in the run-up to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Jigme was born in 1969 in Golog Serta in Kham, eastern Tibet. He was first arrested in 2008 and then he was released and rearrested a number of times. “These ‘information heroes’ are a source of inspiration to all men and men who aspire to freedom. The event will take place at Tibetan Institute of Performing Art Dharamsala, a small town in northern India.
