Il Generale di Brigata Moni Katz: il Libano andrà indietro di 200 anni, se scoppia la guerra
Il Generale di Brigata Moni Katz, comandante della Division 91 dell'esercito israeliano, ha avvertito Hezbollah contro ogni futuro confronto con Israele, dicendo che se inizia la guerra "Il Libano non tornerà indietro solo di 30 anni, ma di 200". Katz ha minacciato il Libano dicendo che pagherà a caro prezzo la prossima guerra che, egli ha sostenuto, sarà vinta da un paese che è pronto a fare un sacco di sacrifici. Il Sito di notizie israeliano Walla ha citato Katz dire che una nuova guerra con il Libano è molto probabile, e che gli israeliani saranno disposti a fare grandi sacrifici quando si renderanno conto che non c'è scampo ad essa. "Credo che l'esercito avrà piena facoltà di entrare in una guerra di lunga durata e nessun libanese potrà fermarci", ha detto. L'esercito israeliano ha subito perdite materiali molto pesanti, pari ad un costo di miliardi di dollari, durante la guerra con il Libano nel 2006.

Israeli official: Lebanon will go back 200 years if war breaks out
Brigadier General Moni Katz, commander of the Israeli army's Division 91, warned Lebanon's Hezbollah against any future confrontation with Israel, saying that if war began "Lebanon will not only go back 30 years, it will return 200 years back". Katz threatened Lebanon saying that it will pay dearly in the next war which he claimed will be won by the country that is ready to make a lot of sacrifices. Israel's Walla news site quoted Katz as saying that another war with Lebanon is very likely, and that Israelis will be willing to make great sacrifices when they realise that there is no escape from it. "I believe the army will have full authorisation to go into a long-term war and no Lebanese person will stand in our face," he said. The Israeli army sustained heavy material losses, at a cost of billions of dollars, during its war with Lebanon in 2006. |
