Giovane scrittore critico delle politiche cinesi, arrestato dalla polizia
Il 17 aprile alle 11.30, uno scrittore tibetano, popolarmente noto come Lomig, è stato arrestato a Ngaba città, nella omonima contea del Tibet orientale. Le sue attuali condizioni e il luogo di detenzione sono sconosciuti. Non è nota neppure la ragione ufficiale del suo arresto. Tuttavia altri scrittori tibetani ipotizzano che sia stato arestato a causa di articoli che criticavano le politiche della Cina in Tibet evidenziando la situazione del popolo tibetano.
La libertà di espressione violata Lomig, anche conosciuto come Jo Jamyang, ha 27 anni. E' diventato un monaco e ha studiato alla scuola di Kirti del buddhismo per la gioventù, prima che le autorità cinesi la chiudessero con la forza. Lomig ha proseguito gli studi in altri monasteri e divenne una figura influente tra i giovani tibetani della sua area, avviando dibattiti pubblici a Ngaba e tenendo discorsi nelle scuole. I suoi scritti circa le cause alla base della rivolta del 2008 e le auto-immolazioni, la distruzione dell'ambiente e le restrizioni alla libertà di espressione sono stati pubblicati su vari blog e siti web tibetani. Nel 2010 ha pubblicato anche il libro "Surge of Yellow Mist".
Resistenza tibetana Ngaba e il monastero di Kirti sono centri di resistenza alla dominazione cinese. Tre delle cinque più recenti immolazione hanno avuto luogo a Ngaba.

Young writer arrested by China's police Lomig critical of China's policies A Tibetan writer, popularly known as Lomig, was arrested in Ngaba county town, eastern Tibet, on 17 April at 11.30pm. His current whereabouts and condition are unknown. The reason for his arrest is also not known. However other Tibetan writers speculate that he was detained because of articles he wrote which criticised China's policies in Tibet and highlighted the situation of the Tibetan people.
Freedom of expression violated Lomig, also known as Jo Jamyang, is 27 years old. He became a monk and studied at the Kirti school of Buddhism for Youth, before the Chinese authorities forcefully closed the school. Lomig continued his studies in other monasteries and became an influential figure among young Tibetans in his area by initiating public debates in Ngaba and giving talks at schools. His writing about the underlying causes of the 2008 uprising and self-immolations, environmental destruction and restrictions on freedom of expression have been published on various Tibetan blogs and websites. He also published the book “Surge of Yellow Mist” in 2010.
Tibetan resistance Ngaba and the Kirti monastery are centres of resistance to Chinese rule. Three of the five most recent self-immolation protests have taken place in Ngaba. |
