Un anno dopo il 9 luglio 2004 La società civile Palestinese chiede il boicottaggio, il disinvestimento e le sanzioni Un anno dopo lo storico parere consultivo della Corte Internazionale di Giustizia (ICJ) che ha giudicato illegale il Muro costruito da Israele nei territori Palestinesi occupati, Israele continua la costruzione del Muro coloniale in totale disprezzo della decisione della Corte. Dopo 38 anni di occupazione della Cisgiordania Palestinese (compresa Gerusalemme Est), della Striscia di Gaza e delle alture siriane del Golan, Israele continua a espandere le colonie ebraiche. Israele si è annessa unilateralmente Gerusalemme-Est occupata e le alture del Golan e sta ora di fatto annettendosi per mezzo del Muro parti importanti della West Bank. Israele si sta anche preparando – all’ombra del suo previsto ritiro dalla Striscia di Gaza – a costruire e espandere le colonie nella West Bank. Cinquantasette dopo che lo Stato di Israele è stato costituito sulla terra ripulita etnicamente dei suoi proprietari palestinesi, una maggioranza di palestinesi sono profughi, molti dei quali senza una nazione. Inoltre, il rafforzato sistema israeliano di discriminazione razziale contro i suoi cittadini Arabo-Palestinesi rimane intatto. Alla luce delle sistematiche violazioni del diritto internazionale da parte di Israele, e Dato che, dal 1948, centinaia di risoluzioni dell’ONU hanno condannato le politiche coloniali e discriminatorie di Israele come illegali e sollecitato immediati, adeguati e effettivi rimedi, e Dato che tutte le forme di intervento internazionale e di peace-making hanno fino ad ora fallito nel convincere o forzare Israele a rispettare le leggi umanitarie, i diritti umani fondamentali e porre termine alla occupazione e all’oppressione del popolo palestinese, e In considerazione del fatto che persone di coscienza nella comunità internazionale si sono storicamente prese la responsabilità morale di combattere l’ingiustizia, come esemplificato dalla lotta per l’abolizione dell’apartheid in Sud-Africa attraverso diverse forme di boicottaggio, disinvestimento e sanzioni; Inspirati dalla lotta dei Sudafricani contro l’apartheid e nello spirito di solidarietà internazionale, coerenza morale e resistenza all’ingiustizia e all’oppressione, Noi, rappresentanti della società civile palestinese, chiediamo alle organizzazioni internazionali della società civile e agli uomini di buona volontà di tutto il mondo di imporre ampi boicottaggi e realizzare iniziative di disinvestimento contro Israele simili a quelle applicate al Sud Africa nel periodo dell’apartheid. Noi facciamo appello a voi perchè facciate pressione sui vostri rispettivi stati per imporre embargo e sanzioni contro Israele. Noi invitiamo anche gli israeliani di buona volontà a sostenere questa richiesta, nell’interesse della giustizia e di una pace effettiva. Queste misure punitive non-violente dovrebbero essere mantenute fino al momento in cui Israele fa fronte ai suoi obblighi di riconoscere il diritto inalienabile del popolo Palestinese all’autodeterminazione e di rispettare completamente le indicazioni del diritto internazionale: * Ponendo termine alla occupazione e alla colonizzazione di tutte le terre arabe e smantellando il Muro * Riconoscendo i diritti fondamentali dei cittadini Arabo-Palestinesi di Israele alla piena uguaglianza * Rispettando, proteggendo e promovendo i diritti dei profughi palestinesi al ritorno nelle loro case e nelle loro proprietà come stabilito nella risoluzione 194 dell’ONU Questo appello è stato sottoscritto da oltre 170 organizzazioni, partiti politici, sindacati, associazioni e organizzazioni, che rappresentano le tre parti integrali del popolo Palestinese: i profughi palestinesi, i palestinesi sotto occupazione e i palestinesi cittadini di Israele.
