Dozens of people suffered from tear gas at the Christmas demo of Al-Ma’sara village

On Christmas day, the  weekly protest in Al Ma’sara on Friday aimed to pass on a message of the Palestinian farmers. Around 80 demonstrators, both Palestinians and internationals, marched towards the main entrance construction site of the Apartheid Wall in a neighboring villageor an end to all illegal constructionon the Wall, and in the surrounding Efrata settlement that has already swallowed much of the agricultural land of nine villages, and comdeming land annexation the occupation per se.

During the demonstration the local popular committee leaders spoke powerfully about their right to the land of their ancestors and their ongoing unarmed struggle for freedom. They called for an end to the arbitrary imprisonment of Palestinian political prisoners

As usual, the protestors were stopped at the exit of the neighboring village of Jurat ash-Shama and once again, the Israeli Occupation Forces began throwing tear gas grenades and stun grenadas at the protestors who were chanting and marching inside their own villages. Dozens of people, including children inside their own houses, suffered from tear gas inhalation. In addition, the IOF attempted several times to randomly arrest protestors and their Israeli and international supporters, however, the protestors managed to evade each arrest attempt.
The al-Ma'sara Popular Committee will be back next week on New Year's Eve and calls on all supporters to join us in our struggle.
